  • PHOENIX — Baylee Toney made a big step toward breaking a rebounding record she already owns at Phoenix.
    The senior forward grabbed 19 boards and added a career-high 26 points to go with five assists in the Pirates' 54-22 Skyline Conference win over North Valley Friday.
    She's 15 rebounds away from eclipsing the single-season record she set last season.
    Toney — who is also the program's career and single-game rebounding leader — got off to a cold start in the Skyline Conference contest with just two first-quarter points before scoring eight in the second period and 12 in the third.
    Bailee Tally recorded 11 points and four steals and guard Cassie Vaught had nine assists and four steals for the Pirates (17-5, 6-2 Sky).
    "With the zone that North Valley runs, it leaves two people up at the top offensively," Kirkland said. "On reversals (Vaught) made some great passes."
    Lexi Pittman led the Knights (6-15, 2-6) with 12 points.

    CASCADE CHRISTIAN 39, ILLINOIS VALLEY 37 — Alaina Thomson recorded 19 points and 10 rebounds for host Cascade Christian in the SCH game.
    The Challengers ended the season with a 13-11 overall record and 4-4 league mark.
    With less than two seconds left, Naviya Dixon of the Cougars (7-15, 2-6) received an inbounds pass near mid-court and nearly made a shot at the buzzer. Dixon finished with nine points while Kimberly Crow led the Cougars with 16.
    Stephanie Croy had four steals for the Challengers.

    Carley Cahill and Amanda Arcularius also scored 11 points apiece as Lakeview (14-8, 7-1), which tied St. Mary's for the SCH title. They'll play off for state seeding Wednesday.
    Anjelica Pamplona scored nine points for Rogue River (1-16, 0-8) before fouling out.
