Crater wrestler Brooke Brower, four Grizzlies qualify for state

Crater's Brooke Brower went 3-0 at the girls wrestling state qualifier in Corvallis on Feb. 16 and was named most outstanding of the tournament, while Ashland's Sadie Bailey also won an individual title to lead four Grizzlies who qualified for state.

Browner, a 113-pound sophomore, will next compete in exhibition matches at the regular state tournament in Portland. There, Ashland will be represented by Bailey (128), Sydney Norvell (134), Sofie Bogdanove (115) and Ditte Rossau (154). Bailey went 3-0 with two pins in Corvallis.

The top four wrestlers at the 10 weight classes in the qualifier moved on.

Earlier, Brower finished in fifth place at the Class 6A District 4 Regional Championships.
