    Ogden rolls past Spartans

  • The Ogden Mustangs had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised to a 6-1 Western States Hockey League victory over the Southern Oregon Spartans at The RRRink Friday.

  • The Ogden Mustangs had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised to a 6-1 Western States Hockey League victory over the Southern Oregon Spartans at The RRRink Friday.
    Ogden scored three goals in the final period, and goalie Tyler Fallica did the rest, finishing with 30 saves.
    Carl Edstrom scored the Spartans' goal 17:18 into the second period to make it 2-1. Tyler Lazarek and Justus Saldeen assisted on the play.
    The Mustangs' goals were scored by six players. Sean Haltam had three assists and Seth Giles and Dusty Watt each had a goal and an assist.
    Southern Oregon came up empty on five power plays.
