Friends had a birthday party for JoAnn on her 82nd birthday that she thoroughly enjoyed. She passed away the next morning, peacefully.
JoAnn was head bookeeper for 30+ years for Ray Johnson who owned radio and T.V. stations.
JoAnn loved rafting and adventure. With her husband, Frank, they rafted many rivers in the far North including the 2,000 mile Yukon River, some above the Arctic Circle. They also rafted the Colorado through the Grand Canyon and the Katun River in the Soviet Union. JoAnn had a passion for bears and wolves.
They beefed up a Volkswagon and drove the Baja Peninsula twice before the highway was built.
JoAnn loved fishing and, with Frank, they fished for salmon and bottom fish off the Oregon Coast and big game fish in Mexico.
In later years they enjoyed classis cars and belonged to the Rogue Valley Street Rodders.
JoAnn leaves behind her husband, Frank; son, Stanley; daughter-in-law, Kathy; grandkids and great-grandkids; many friends; and her beloved dog, Annalee.
A donation will be made to the Southern Oregon Humane Society.
God Bless You, JoAnn, We Love You!
A celebration of life will be held this summer when the weather is nice. The date will be announced.
