Events scheduled at First Church of the Nazarene

First Church of the Nazarene will hold a garage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at the church gym, 1974 E. McAndrews Road, Medford. The event is a fundraiser for a church trip to Sun Valley Indian School in Arizona.

The church will offer a Faith Promise Weekend with missionaries Hiram and Yinana Galvez at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 1, and 9 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday, March 2, at the church. Hiram Galvez was born in Havana, earned his master's degree in Russia, and has performed piano and sung in several competitions. The Galvezes have been missionaries in India and Panama and currently serve in the Caribbean.

St. Mark's Episcopal holds choral Evensong

Worship services will be held at 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday, March 2, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 140 N. Oakdale Ave., Medford.

A traditional Anglican service of choral Evensong will be offered at 4 p.m. Sunday at the church. The program is free, and a reception will follow.

A Shrove Tuesday pancake supper prepared by the men of St. Mark's will be offered at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, in the Parish Hall of the church.

Trinity Episcopal holdsHoly Eucharist Rite II

Holy Eucharist Rite II services will be held at 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday, March 2, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 44 N. Second St., Ashland.

Private confessions by appointment will be offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, at the church.

Holy Eucharist and imposition of ashes services will be offered at noon and 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 5.

Church services include sermon, study program

Medford Congregational United Church of Christ worship services begin with a sermon by Rev. Kurt Katzmar at 10 a.m. Sunday, March 22, at 1801 E. Jackson St. Children's church and nursery care is held during the service. Contemplative prayer is held at 9 a.m. in the Social Hall.

A "Living the Questions 2.0" adult study program is offered at 7 p.m. Mondays and 11 a.m. Tuesdays at the church until Easter.

An Ash Wednesday service, marking the beginning of Lent, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, in the church sanctuary. The placing of ashes on the forehead will be available. The service will include the symbols of fire and water. Call 541-772-8860.


Unitarian welcomes minister's sermon

Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will welcome Rev. Elizabeth Green, who will give a sermon titled "Creating a Web of Life" at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 2, at 87 Fourth St., Ashland. Rev. Rob Wheeler will give a sermon titled "Living from Within-Out" at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 2, at Christ Unity Church, 540 N. Holly St., Medford.

A Healing from the Heart service is held at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at the church, a Silent Unity Prayer Service is held at 11 a.m. Wednesdays, and a metaphysical bible discussion follows at 11:30 a.m.

First Presbyterian Church of Ashland will hold a Shrove Tuesday pancake dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, at the church, 1615 Clark Ave. Cost is $5 per person or $15 per family. The dinner is a fundraiser for the Ashland Youth Collective.
