Springbrook Road slated for sidewalks, roundabout

OK, here we go again :>) Please refer to the Since You Asked of Aug. 1, 2007, regarding when sidewalks will be installed on Springbrook between Delta Waters and Cedar Links. Talking with Medford City Council had no effect, Springbrook has been realigned, so now when will the sidewalks between Pheasant Lane and Delta Waters appear? Still lots of school kids, people, pets, bicycles on this stretch (probably another generation of them!).

Sandy, have we got great news for you. Looks like not only will you be getting sidewalks relatively soon, but most likely a roundabout, too. And we bet you didn't even ask for that! (Maybe we'll get another smiley face for it.)

According to Cory Crebbin, public works director for the city of Medford, his department is waiting for a technical analysis from a consultant on the project, which would include the long-awaited sidewalks and likely a roundabout at Cedar Links Drive and Springbrook Road.

On the city's website, it says a "modern roundabout is the preferred alternative" at that intersection.

Crebbin said after the consultant's report is in, it will take a few months to process a "transportation facility" application for approval by the city, then a few months of design work, then construction.

He said the city has acquired most of the property needed for the project, so it shouldn't be delayed further by that. The project is in the city's current budget.
