  • Making a short film using tablets and smartphones in lieu of conventional camera equipment will be the focus of the Ashland Mac Users Group's next meeting, held 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at the Ashland Community Hospital Conference Room, 280 Maple St.
    The meeting's first hour will involve a question and answer session, followed by a talk by Carl Prufer on making a short film.
    Prufer, who used to work in television, had a short film on competitive rowing shown at the Ashland Independent Film Festival. He will talk about his experience making short films using DSLR cameras, iPhones, and iPads instead of conventional video cameras.
