    Ashley Bolston, South Medford girls basketball
    The senior guard/forward scored 28 points for the top-ranked Panthers in a 71-47 victory over Roseburg to advance to the Class 6A quarterfinals for the fourth straight year.
    Cesar Chavez, Eagle Point boys basketball
    The senior point guard scored the game-winning basket with 1.5 seconds to go in a 55-53 win in the first round of the Class 5A state playoffs. He had 23 points as the Eagles (21-3) advanced to the quarterfinals.
    Seth Knox, Cascade Christian boys basketball
    The senior wing came up big with 10 points, 11 rebounds and five assists as the Challengers (26-4) placed fourth in the Class 3A state tournament with a 50-45 triumph over Creswell. He was named player of the game.
    Ben Orndoff, South Medford boys basketball
    The senior wing finished with 19 points, five rebounds and three assists as the 10th-ranked Panthers secured a trip to the Class 6A state tournament with a 69-55 second-round win over Southridge.
