  • The Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics will reopen Thursday, and officials say they are confident they have contained a norovirus outbreak that affected more than 200 people at the facility since March 1.
"The facility will continue to take extra precautions, such as stressing the importance of hand hygiene to anyone entering the campus, to minimize a resurgence of the norovirus," said a news release.
During the outbreak, 156 patients and 64 staff members were affected by the virus, which causes severe diarrhea, nausea and stomach cramps. Seventeen people were treated at local hospitals.
