Zolton Sandor (Alex) Szentesi passed away February 23, 2014 in Jacksonville, Ore. at the age of 61. He lost his long fight with prostate cancer. He was born July 11, 1952 in Passau, Bavaria located on the shores of the Danube. His parents were the late Janos and Maria Szentesi of Hungarian descent. Alex Szentesi lived in Albany, N.Y., San Diego, Calif., and Jacksonville, Ore. He lived in Oregon since the late 1970s.
He was a long-time member of the Medford camera retail industry and was a valued member of the Medford Rotary for many years.
Alex had a passion for life and friendships. He enjoyed cooking, hiking, photography, skiing, traveling, camping, kayaking, potluck gatherings, and embracing the fellowship of love and laughter. His travels included China, Peru, Galapagos, Switzerland, Yosemite, and Gig Harbor, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie who passed away in 1998, and his wife, Laurie, who passed away in 2011. He is survived by his brothers, Attila John (Mary Allen) Szentesi of Gig Harbor, Wash., Charlie Robert (Christie) Szentesi of San Diego, Calif., and George William Szentesi of Palm Springs, Calif.. He is also survived by nieces and nephews who adored him. He has numerous friends in Southern Oregon whom he loved dearly.
He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
