SAN DIEGO — Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly says reliever Brian Wilson will be placed on the disabled list with nerve irritation in his right elbow.

Mattingly says Wilson was examined by a team doctor on Monday and there was no ligament damage. Wilson had reconstructive elbow surgery in April 2012.

The manager says he hopes it's a situation where Wilson just needs time for the nerve to settle down.

Wilson pitched Sunday, allowing three runs in the eighth inning of a 3-1 loss to San Diego.
