BLUES MUSICIANS from around the valley will perform at the Rogue Valley Blues Summit at 6 p.m. at Howiee's on Front, 16 N. Front St., Medford. The new monthly event takes the idea of a blues jam to the next level: collections of blues players gathered by invitation only to provide some of the hottest blues around, organizers say. The opening band is built around David Pinsky and "Broadway" Phil Newton, recent competitors at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. They've picked musicians for the opening band and a second blues combo. The summit will repeat on the second Tuesday of every month. Admission is free.
