  • Duane Nicholson
    Max (Nick) Duane Nicholson passed from this life into eternal life with his Lord and Savior April 1, 2014 in Vancouver, Wash. at the Veterans CLC. Nick was born April 10, 1950 to Max Darrell and Anna Belle Nicholson in Ashland, Oregon. He served in the US Air Force and was stationed in Thailand from 1968 to 1972. He married Joyce Elaine Callaway in Thailand on April 21, 1971.
    He initiated a military funded halfway house ministry for servicemen addicted to drugs. Nick was primarily self employed from 1972 to 2013 in a variety of engineering and construction ventures, bringing to life people's ideas and dreams and designing and building them from scratch.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Max Darrell Nicholson. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Nicholson of Medford, Ore.; daughters, Tina (Brandon) Douglas of Scappoose, Ore. and Dorina (Morgan) Colburn of Trout Lake, Wash.; son, Enoch (Elizabeth) Nicholson of Seattle, Wash.; mother, Anna Belle Nicholson; brothers, Dan (Sue) Nicholson, Mike (Terri) Nicholson, and Gary Nicholson (Karen May); sisters, Sandy (Ron) Badtram, Berdina (Ralph) Wiley, and Rayleen (David) Griffiths; four grandsons, Nathanael Douglas, Caleb Douglas, Micah Colburn, and Joel Douglas; three granddaughters, Janessa Colburn, Alysha Colburn, and Shyrah Douglas; and many nieces and nephews.
    A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at New Song Church in Medford, Ore., 4041 Crater Lake Ave., Suite E, with Dan Mickelson officiating. (Casual attire is encouraged) Burial will take place at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
