She is survived by her daughters, Starlene, Debra, and Nadara; eight grandchildren, Donny, Ronny, Misty, Sherry, Richy, Heather, Amber, and Jason; and 22 great-grandchildren. She recently met her great-great-grandson, Tyson.
Family was very important to her and she loved life. Melva was a strong and wise woman. She held strong to her faith and opened her heart. Melva always enjoyed listening to music, dancing, playing bass and singing. Shopping was one of her passions and she was always very classy. Melva enjoyed traveling and had been to many different countries. We are blessed to have been given time to know and be loved by her. We will continue to honor her memory.
A memorial service was held for her Monday, April 7, 2014, at Perl Funeral Home.
Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the lord my soul to keep
If I should die before I wake
I pray the lord my soul to take
