  • Ivend and Kathleen Holen of Medford celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a buffet reception on March 28 at HomeTown Buffet, hosted by their eldest daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Michael Rhoades.

  • Ivend and Kathleen Holen of Medford celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a buffet reception on March 28 at HomeTown Buffet, hosted by their eldest daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Michael Rhoades.
    The couple also celebrated with a bird-watching trip to Klamath Falls on April 2.
    Ivend Holen married Kathleen Frokjer on April 12, 1964, in Alexandria, Minn. They have two daughters, Melanie Rhoades of Medford and Maureen Sweeney of Salt Lake City, and one granddaughter, Sally Sweeney.
    Ivend and Kathy moved to Medford in 1979. Ivend worked many years for the Bureau of Land Management, then the Medford Water Commission, and then for Trees Inc. Kathy worked for the Southern Oregon Historical Society as a "living history" performer at the Beekman House.
    They both are active volunteers for Oregon Action and other progressive causes.
