  • North Medford's boys and girls track and field teams pulled off an impressive sweep on Wednesday over cross-town rival South Medford in Southern Oregon Hybrid action at the Panthers' home site.
    Savannah Greenwade, Halley Folsom and Jaci Brumble each won a pair of individual events and were also on winning relay teams to help North Medford's girls secure an 87-58 win over South Medford.
    In boys action, Aaron Browne-Moore and Mario Filippi were the only Black Tornado competitors to win multiple individual events, with Browne-Moore also on both winning relay squads as North scored an 86-58 win over the Panthers.
    South Medford's Sara Miles won in the shot put (36 feet) and javelin (102-8) to help pace her squad, while the Panther boys got a pair of wins by Stuart Tomlinson in the 110 hurdles (17.54 seconds) and 300 hurdles (46.10).
    Greenwade took the 200 in 26.76 and the 400 in 59.79, while Folsom was a flash in the hurdles, winning the 100 version in 16.0 and the 300 in 45.90. Brumble soared to 15-73/4 in the long jump and 32-5 in the triple jump to place first.
    Greenwade and Brumble were also part of the winning short relay, while Folsom and Greenwade were half of the victorious 4x400 relay.
    Filippi finished first in the high jump at 6-2 and the pole vault at 12-6, while Browne-Moore cruised to wins in the 200 (22.72) and triple jump (43-51/4).

    GP SWEEPS ASHLAND — At Ashland, Ashland junior Laurel Watson won the 400-meter run, the shot put and the long jump, but the Grants Pass girls still edged Ashland 73-66 in a nonconference dual.
    The Grants Pass boys, behind a pair of wins by Drake Brennan (shot put, discus), prevailed 88-44.
    Watson set personal records in both the 400 (1 minute, 6.86 seconds) and shot put (28 feet, 91/2 inches).

    ROSEBURG SWEEPS EP — At Roseburg, Eagle Point freshman Maya Bradd won a pair of events and sophomore Marinda Stanton took first in the triple jump but the EP girls were topped 114-25 by Roseburg at Finlay Field.
    Bradd won the 200 in 29.01 seconds and the long jump at 13-103/4, while Stanton won with a lead of 31-10.
    Eagle Point's boys team lost 102-43 but got wins in the 300 hurdles by Tyler Wanamaker (43.68), the shot put by Austin Holmes (42-91/4) and the high jump by Dominic Patterson (5-6).

    PHOENIX FARES WELL — At Klamath Falls, Phoenix had four boys and two girls win individual events during a Skyline Conference meet at Henley that included Klamath Union and Lost River.

    Phoenix's Nate Goodnature won the 400 in 54.59 seconds, while Randy Mena finished first in the 800 (2:13.22), Philip Todak won the 1,500 (4:33.18) and Cody Holden placed first in the shot put (41-93/4).
    In girls action, Phoenix secured wins from Nevina De Luca in the 1,500 (5:15.22) and Tori Romig in the discus (118-3).
