The Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University received grants totaling $100,000 from the Oregon Arts Commission to support arts-based activities and events.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University received grants totaling $100,000 from the Oregon Arts Commission to support arts-based activities and events.

OSF received $80,000, which will support a production of "The Two Gentlemen of Verona," featuring an all-female cast. The grant also will support preparatory and post-performance programming to promote dialogue about gender issues and the production itself.

SOU received $20,000 to support a project called "Sight, Insight, Incite," a series of artist lectures, conversations and demonstrations that will complement Schneider Art Museum programming.
