EUGENE — North Medford's Halley Folsom had a magnificent day — all in a span of about 40 minutes — at the Oregon Relays at Hayward Field Saturday.

The junior ran the second fastest time in school history in the 300-meter hurdles, took a quick turn in the high jump, then came back 15 minutes later to run only her second career 800 for the Black Tornado — and broke the 19-year-old school record.

Folsom's 800 time of 2:18.33 bettered the mark of 2:18.7 established by Rachel Ross in 1995. Folsom placed eighth in the elite high school race, but was the No. 3 Oregon runner.

She moved to No. 6 in the state rankings.

In the hurdles, her time of 44.44 seconds was good for second place and the best time in Oregon by nearly a second. In school history, it ranks behind only the 44.24 she ran last spring to win the state championship.

For good measure, Folsom high-jumped 5-2.

Also for North Medford, the boys 4x100 team of Josh Hansen, Michael Wilkins, Daniel Schuler and Aaron Browne-Moore placed eighth in 44.04 seconds; Savannah Greenwade was seventh in the girls 400 in 59.77; Hannah Anderson placed sixth in the girls javelin at 108-5; and Mario Fillipi was ninth in the pole vault at 12-111/2.
