  • Ashland Middle School and Ashland High School students will help the Ashland Lions Club sand and repaint benches at the Butler Band Shell in Lithia Park over the next two weekends.
The students will work from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, April 26 and May 3, at the Ashland Parks Department shop adjacent to the parking lot at the intersection of Winburn Way and Granite Street in Lithia Park.
Each summer, the Ashland Lions Club sells ice cream at the Ashland City Band concerts Thursday nights at the Butler Band Shell. All of the profits are divided between the Ashland Middle and High school band programs. The Lions also maintain the benches that are used at the band shell.
The Lions will provide donuts, fruit and bottled water each morning to kick things off. The Lions also will provide all materials with the assistance of the Miller Paint Co of Ashland. For more information, contact Pete Jorgensen at 541-482-2515 or by email at pete@ashlandcreek.net.
