    MOTHER'S DAY PLANT SALE: Hanging baskets, bedding plants and vegetables, all grown by Phoenix High School students, will be sold to benefit horticultural education from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the school's greenhouse, 745 N. Rose St.

    THE JACKSONVILLE GARDEN CLUB'S 29th annual spring sale, featuring fresh-cut flower bouquets, unusual plants, handmade cards and home-baked goods, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today and Saturday, near the Jacksonville Post Office, 175 N. Oregon St. The money raised will provide scholarships for local youths and supports beautification projects at the Peter Britt Garden, Doc Griffin Park and the Jacksonville Post Office.

    EMPTY BOWLS SUPPER: The third annual fundraising event to benefit Uncle Food's Diner, Ashland Emergency Food Bank, ACCESS and Food Angels will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church, 175 N. Main St., Ashland. A dinner of soup and bread will be served by local restaurants in bowls made by local potters. Tickets can be purchased at Paddington Station, 125 E.     DANCE STUDENTS from Crater Renaissance Academy and members of Eugene's University of Oregon Repertory Dance Company will present "Collaborations," a showcase of modern, jazz, hip-hop and street dancing, at 7 tonight and at the same time Saturday at the Crater High School Performing Arts Center, 655 N. Lewis won a Grammy for her contribution to "True Life Blues: The Songs of Bill Monroe." She and Rozum use bluegrass instruments to create original newgrass.
