  • CORVALLIS — First baseman Gabe Clark drove in four runs and No. 2-ranked Oregon State defeated UCLA 9-3 on Saturday night at Goss Stadium to clinch their Pacific-12 Conference series. OSU also won the opener, 4-2 on Friday night.
    It was the 10th consecutive win overall and the 10thstraight Pacific-12 Conference victory for the Beavers (37-8, 19-4), who extended their lead over second-place Washington to 34 percentage points (.826-.792) in their bid to repeat as Pac-12 champions. They are 12-1 in their last 13 and 17-2 in their last 19.
    ARIZONA STATE 9, OREGON 4 — At Tempe, Ariz., Oregon scored four runs in the top of the first inning but couldn't contain Arizona State in Pac-12 play.
    Oregon's Jeff Gold (9-1) lasted just 22/3 innings while giving up eight runs (four earned) on nine hits. The Ducks committed three errors, including two in the second inning that led to the four unearned runs.

    KEYS IN SECOND — At Pullman, Wash., the Pac-12 championships opened with the first day of the multi-event competition, and reigning decathlon champion Dakotah Keys of Oregon is in second place.
    Keys has 3,964 points. He was second in the 100 meters (11.16), shot put (42-61/4) and high jump (6-83/4) while also taking third in the and long jump (23-71/4).
    Ducks freshman Mitch Modin is third with 3,886 points. He won the shot put 42-93/4 and the 400 (49.09).
