  • Oregon State has yet to ask Terry Porter to interview for its open men's basketball job, the former Trail Blazers guard told The Oregonian on Tuesday afternoon.
Porter said he spoke with Bob De Carolis briefly after Craig Robinson's dismissal last week, but hasn't discussed the vacancy in depth. At this point, he plans to "wait and see how it plays out."
Porter, a Minnesota Timberwolves assistant last season, is unsure how Timberwolves head coach Rick Adelman's retirement announcement last month will affect his job status. He said he'd "obviously be interested in listening" to OSU.
"I don't see why anybody would not want that job," Porter added. "It's a quality conference obviously. There's a ton of history and a ton of tradition there. You just have to engage the fan base and get back to communicating with the alumni."
Arizona assistant Damon Stoudamire had his second conversation with De Carolis in 24 hours on Tuesday, according to a source. No job was offered.
With former UCLA coach Ben Howland no longer interested in the opening, Stoudamire is the only remaining candidate known to have spoken directly with De Carolis this week.
According to thejob listingposted on OSU's official web site, "full consideration" of candidates will be made by today. Applications will not be considered after Friday.
