  • ROSEBURG — The Roseburg softball team took over sole possession of third place in the Southern Oregon Hybrid with a 1-0 win over South Medford on Wednesday, but they could soon be flipping spots with the Panthers.
South (8-11, 3-7 SOH), now fourth in the SOH, takes on last-place Crater (3-19, 0-10) in a doubleheader on Saturday, while the Indians (11-10, 4-6) face first-place North Medford (19-1, 10-1) in a pair of contests that same day. Conference play ends Saturday.
The top three squads in the SOH automatically qualify for the OSAA's 32-team bracket. The other two squads in the league must compete in play-in games.

Sara Gartlan and Rachael Moore had the Panthers' only two hits.
