Felony arrests

  • Drugs — Melinda Carol Berger, 44, no known address. Medford police Monday arrested Berger on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. She was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on $25,000 bail.
  • Burglary — Maximillian Salvador Velasquez, 26, of the 300 block of North Ivy Street, Medford. Ashland police Monday arrested Velasquez on charges of first-degree burglary, first-degree theft and interfering with police. He was booked into the Jackson County Jail and released on his own recognizance.
  • Drugs — Tyrus Shane Jones, 46, of the 100 block of Elk Street, Medford. Medford police Monday arrested Jones on charges of possession of methamphetamine, endangering a minor and second-degree trespassing. He was lodged in jail on $20,000 bail.
  • Assault — Makayla Janae McSorley, 44, of the first block of West Jackson Street, Medford. Medford police Tuesday arrested McSorley on charges of second-degree assault, fourth-degree assault, menacing, harassment and unlawful use of a weapon. She was lodged in jail on $60,000 bail.
  • Drugs — Joshua Ryan Brandt, 29, of the 700 block of Speirs Street, Medford. Brandt Tuesday made his initial appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin and a probation violation for driving under the influence of intoxicants. He was booked into jail and released on his own recognizance.
  • Burglary — Chad Michael Heppner, 37, of the 200 block of Meadow Lane, Eagle Point. Heppner Tuesday made his initial appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, two counts of felon in possession of a weapon, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, two counts of first-degree theft and two counts of second-degree theft. He was lodged in jail on $10,000 bail.
  • Burglary — Jordan Allen Stewart, 22, of the 4600 block of Butte Falls Highway, Butte Falls. Eagle Point police Tuesday arrested Stewart on charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and first-degree trespassing. He was lodged in jail on $28,000 bail.
  • Drugs — Francisco Jav Vargas-Hernandez, 29, no known address. Medford police Tuesday arrested Vargas-Hernandez on charges of possession of methamphetamine, delivery of methamphetamine and a federal warrant.

Crime reports

  • Theft — 1700 block of Concord Way, Medford. Medford police took a report at 8:05 a.m. Monday of a theft of two cell phones. The loss was valued at $1,100.
  • Theft — 400 block of Alice Street, Medford. Medford police took a report at 6:16 p.m. Monday of a theft of prescription medication. The loss was valued at $1,100.
  • Burglary — 200 block of Laurel Street, Medford. Medford police took a report at 8:56 p.m. Monday of a burglary to a residence during which a gold ring, two Xbox gaming systems, seven DVDs and a laptop were taken. The loss was valued at $10,705.
  • Burglary — 400 block of Western Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report at 1:27 p.m. Tuesday of a burglary to a residence during which miscellaneous household items were taken. The loss was valued at $2,997.
