    EAGLE POINT NATIONAL CEMETERY: Sen. Ron Wyden, Rep. Greg Walden and retired Marine Col. Dave Dotterrer, a state senate candidate, will speak at a Memorial Day observance to remember service members who died. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. at 2763 Riley Road.

    OREGON FALLEN WAR HEROES MEMORIAL: Republican gubernatorial candidate Dennis Richardson will join Sen. Ron Wyden, Rep. Greg Walden in a Memorial Day commemoration at Don Jones Park, 223 W. Vilas Road, in Central Point at 9 a.m. A bagpipe band will perform.

    MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY: In Ashland, American Legion Post 14 and VFW Post 353 will put on a ceremony at the cemetery, 440 Normal Ave. Valley of the Rogue New Horizons Band, Southern Oregon Concert Band and Ashland High School choir will perform. Boy Scout Troop 112 will present the flag. Band music will start at 10:30 a.m., and the service will start at 11 a.m. City employees will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to assist families and visitors with questions and help direct them to grave sites.

    JACKSONVILLE HISTORIC CEMETERY: Volunteers from the Friends of Jacksonville's Historic Cemetery will be in the cemetery from 11 a.m to 3 p.m. to assist visitors in locating gravesites of loved ones. They will also be available to answer questions about the cemetery and the Friends organization. Volunteers will place flags on all of the veterans' gravesites. See www.friendsjvillecemetery.org.

    MEMORIAL DAY IN GRANTS PASS: At Hillcrest Memorial Park, an 11 a.m. ceremony will be hosted at by the Marine Corps League. Nearly 1,000 flags will be displayed in the Avenue of Flags. At noon, an annual ceremony to remember and salute fallen military veterans will be held at Riverside Park.

    REMEMBERING IN THE ILLINOIS VALLEY: American Legion Post 70 will put on three events in Cave Junction, beginning with a 10 a.m. ceremony at City Hall, 222 Lister Ave., where taps will be played. At 10:30 a.m., a ceremony will be held at the World War I monument near Jubilee Park. A ceremony will also be held at 11 a.m. at Laurel Cemetery on Laurel Avenue.

    OBSERVANCES ON THE COAST: In a noontime event in Gold Beach, VFW Post 4439 will honor the fallen at the Curry County Veterans Memorial, 94080 Shirley Lane. In Brookings, the names of Oregon military members killed in Vietnam will be read at 6 p.m. in a ceremony at City Hall, 898 Elk Drive.
