Crosstown rivals South Medford and North Medford meet in the second round of the Class 6A baseball playoffs at 4:30 p.m. at North Medford High.
North Medford placed second in the Southern Oregon Hybrid and is the No. 2 team in the Oregon School Activities Association power rankings with a 23-4 record. It defeated the Panthers in all three league meetings by an average score of 5-1.
South Medford was the No. 3 team in the league and is 16-10 overall.
North Medford is coming off a 5-3 victory Monday over visiting Oregon City, while South Medford advanced with a 5-4 home triumph over Barlow.

South Medford had the upset of the tournament when the No. 30-seeded Panthers rode the pitching of freshman Pat Moore to an 11-inning, 5-1 triumph over No. 3-seeded Tualatin.
