    MEDFORD CRUISE: The first event of the annual Medford Cruise Week is today. Professional and nonprofessional drift drivers from Canada, California, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii will converge on the Jackson County Sports Park, 6900 Kershaw Road, White City, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., for the enjoyment of spectators and ride-along participants. The event continues at the same time Sunday. Cost is $10 for spectators, and you can ride with one of the drivers for an extra $10 (Must be 16 or older).

    NATIONAL TRAILS DAY: A volunteer event to improve the trails at Oredson-Todd Woods and Siskiyou Mountain Park near Ashland Will be held from 9 a.m. to noon.     BREWS, BURGERS & BLUEGRASS: THRIVE will hold its annual event from noon to 8 p.m. at Eden Valley Orchards, 2310 Voorhies Road, Medford.     TRAILHEAD DEDICATION: The Applegate Trails Association will hold a ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m. at Long Gulch Trailhead on the Applegate Ridge Trail's Heart Trail to celebrate a grant that allows the group to establish picnic tables and informational kiosks at five trailhead parking areas and make site improvements such as grading, gravel and boulders. The Heart Trail cuts through the heart of the 5,700-acre Wellington Wild Lands. This old mining road turned trail provides a 5-mile ridge hike (out and back) with modest elevation gain. The ribbon-cutting will be followed by free food and music. To get there from Jacksonville, travel 4.9 miles southwest on Highway 238 toward Ruch and turn right on Forest Creek Road.
