  • Charles Cook, 69, was born in Medford, Ore. November 23, 1944, to Riley and Jene Cook. He passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Royale Gardens Nursing Home in Grants Pass, Ore.
    Charles's interests ranged from collecting model cars and tractors to going on antiquing excursions, visiting train parks and "steam-up" shows, and going twice-weekly to lunches at Food & Friends. Over the years he was able to go on many interesting cruises and trips with his Stepping Stone friends and staff, traveling to an Arizona Dude Ranch, the Pendleton Roundup, Hawaii, Mexico, and the Grand Canyon by rail.
    He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his older brother Forrest Cook and wife Carole of Sams Valley, and by his sister, Alice Cook Matheny and husband Bruce of Applegate and by two aunts plus numerous nephews and nieces. Charles also leaves behind his best buddies, Bobbe, Terry, and Pam.
    A graveside service for the family will be held at a later date.
