  • Southern Oregon University has named Robert Casserly program manager for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. He replaces Anya Neher, who took a job elsewhere.
    Casserly previously served as office manager for the SOU Center for Emerging Media and Digital Arts. Prior to that he served as executive director at Sanctuary One, a care farm in the Applegate Valley for abused and neglected animals.
    In a release, SOU said Casserly brings several strengths to the job, including experience in budgeting and accounting, support of faculty and students, community outreach and resource development.
    The Bernard Osher Foundation provides lifelong learning opportunities through classes and events on 117 campuses nationwide.
    OLLI at SOU serves more than 1,400 members on its campuses in Ashland and Medford. It provides more than 300 courses per year and produces dozens of educational events. Its curriculum includes classes in art, hiking, history, investing, literature, music, personal development, politics, science, technology and writing.
