  • Homer Eugene (Gene) Bell passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014 in the home he built, surrounded his loving family.
Gene was born in Oakland, Calif. in February 1946 to Kenneth and Gerry Bell. He was raised in southern California and he married Marsha, his high school sweetheart in 1965. Gene and Marsha moved to Ruch, Ore. soon after to raise their two children, Tonie and Tom. Gene was a carpenter by trade and owned his own business, 4Bells Cabinets. He loved being out in the wilderness hunting with his son and grandsons. He also was an excellent fisherman and had the fishing tales to back that claim up! His greatest love was his family and dog, but was the most happy when he was fishing with his family and dog!
Gene is survived by his wife, Marsha Bell, of Ruch; children, Tonie Jenkins (Ray) of Eugene, Ore., Tom Bell (Lori), of Medford, Ore.; grandchildren, Candi Jenkins, Scott Bell, Dallas Bell, Summer Jenkins, Morgan Bell, Caleb Bell and Raynie Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Logan Bell and Anabel Roberts; mother-in-law, Marg Mares, of Central Point, Ore.; brother, Gary Bell (Bonnie) of Reno, Nev.; sister, Patricia Koch (Gerry) of Victorville, Calif.; sister-in-law Debbie Mares, of Medford; and Copper, his faithful companion, of Ruch.
A memorial service will be held Monday, June 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Perl Funeral Home, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford, OR.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Vincent de Paul food pantry, where Gene's mother-in-law, Marg volunteers.
