Dr. Ellen Celebrezze Corey passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2014.

Until her cancer diagnosis 5 years ago Ellen was an Emergency Medicine physician at Rogue Valley Medical Center, touching countless people's lives in the Southern Oregon community. She freely gave her time to Walker Elementary and Ashland High as a classroom helper and event planner. Her 2011 Medford Mail Tribune article on de-nesting was widely read and appreciated.

She is remembered as a lively spark, kind and generous, never too busy to help others.

Ellen is survived by her husband, Anthony Haulk; daughters, Kim, Amy and Julie; mother, Marion Sudkamp; siblings, Bruce, Jerry (Joanne), Mike (Loree), Bob (Vicky), Bill (Margaret), Tom (Simon) Celebrezze, Susan (David) Surgala, Mary Lou (Bill) Coleman, Kathy Norris, Ann (Frank) Albert, Eileen Seiter and Laura Sudkamp. She is also survived by Wes Corey, father of Kim, Amy and Julie, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday June 28, 2014 at the Medford Congregational United Church of Christ, 1801 E. Jackson St. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to The Nature Conservancy or to the Case Western Reserve University Advancement Services (Scholarship Fund).
