Walter Murray, son of Betty Taylor and Walter F, Murray (deceased), passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014 surrounded by his family. Though he had battled cancer for some time the passing was unexpectedly sudden.

A 1974 graduate of Eagle Point High School, he played varisty football and was voted "Most Masculine" by his classmates. He shortly attended SOSC to study history.

Walter worked in the paving industry for 28 years in a succession of companies that are now Knife River and paved many of the roads in and around the Rogue Valley. He enjoyed his work and took pride in his jobs. He was known to have a big heart and was generous to all he met.

He is survived by his two children, Derick Murray and Erin Murray; their mother, Jodi McGonagal; and grandson, Connor Murray. Walter is also survived by his mother, Betty Taylor; sister, Nadine Parker; and brother, Alan Murray, all of whom will miss him dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. July 27, 2014, 2569 Alta Vista Rd., Eagle Point. Balloon release at 3:00 p.m. Anyone wishing to contact the family or send cards may do so at PO Box 864, Eagle Point, OR 97524, and would be appreciated by the family.
