  • For the second time in a week, the Subway sandwich shop near the intersection of Crater Lake Avenue and East McAndrews Road was robbed this morning by a blade-wielding masked man, police said.
Two men armed with large knives robbed the same Subway sandwich shop early Wednesday morning.
This morning's robbery was reported at about 1:55 a.m. after a lone man dressed in black rushed into the store displaying an unknown style of knife and demanded money, according to a police news release.
There is no description of the suspect, who fled on foot following the robbery with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Medford police searched the area with the help of dogs, but were unable to locate the man, the release said.
Several witnesses were inside the store during the robbery, the release said, but no one was injured.
Police believe this morning's robber was likely involved in Wednesday morning's robbery during which the pair of crooks threatened a lone female employee before she handed over the contents of the cash register — less than $100.
The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Medford Police Department at at 541-774-2230.
