I was looking up tax information for a neighborhood we like the other day on the county property record's page. I noticed the aerial photo on the site is from 2005. Does Jackson County have any plans for an updated photo? Much has changed in the past nine years.

Well, Dorris, if you are an insider with the county, we here at SYA World Headquarters have good news for you. Even if you're not, we have options for you.
County Assessor Josh Gibson told us the aerial maps were updated in 2009, 2011 and again in 2012. However, those new images are for internal use only because of file size and other issues.
"Depending on the resolution, we can see within 6 inches in some parts of the valley," Gibson said. "The entire county is done to within a meter-high resolution, which is pretty good. It's really nice to look at new stuff and compare it to the old stuff."
Gibson said he's unaware of any plans to put a new aerial view on the county property site.
That doesn't mean you're out of luck if you aren't an insider. Gibson said the site maintains links to Google, Bing and Yahoo map sites, all of which can give you more up-to-date views of the neighborhoods.
"On any account we pinpoint the site to the current aerial view they have," he said. "They all have their pros and cons."
