    Comets hammer out hits in sweep of Henley

  • KLAMATH FALLS — The Central Point American Legion A baseball team churned out 26 hits and swept Henley, 12-2 in six innings and 10-1, in a nonleague doubleheader on Wednesday.
    In the opener, Central Point's Cavin Gillispie went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored. He hit a two-run home run in the third inning and a two-run double in the sixth.
    Dylan Pearce was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Dylan Morgan 2-for-4 with two runs and Avery Martin and Neil Bastendorff both 2-for-3 with a run.
    In the second contest, Morgan finished 4-for-4 with two RBIs and a run and Brady Roland 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs for the Comets (23-7). Jake Ireland hit a solo shot in the sixth.
