  • Joshua Ketner has joined Peerless Restaurant in Ashland as head chef.
    Ketner previously worked as executive chef of the Hilo Bay Cafe on the island of Hawaii, creating traditional Hawaiian cuisine and Pacific Rim fusion dishes and four times earning it the Hale Aina Award for Best Big Island Restaurant. He also recently worked as the head chef at Veranda Park in Medford.
    Ketner has been featured in national magazines, including Food and Wine, Gourmet and Sunset Magazine, and is in the 2013 edition of Best Chefs of America.
    According to a release from the Peerless, Ketner has worked in every facet of the kitchen, beginning at age 14 as a dishwasher and working up to line cook and kitchen manager. He has worked at several prestigious restaurants in Hawaii; including Mama's Fish House on Maui.
    Peerless Restaurant is at 265 Fourth St., Ashland.
