    SLICK, SLIMY OR SCALY: Join naturalist John Jackson and learn about creatures that scoot, skitter or slither during a program on reptiles and amphibians from 1 to 2 p.m. at the White City library, 3143 Avenue C. Learn the differences between reptiles and amphibians, their life cycles and the roles they play in the environment at this free program. The audience also will get the chance to touch live box turtles, bearded dragons, frogs and more.

    SAXOPHONIC SPECTACULAR-O-PHONE: Classical saxophone player Jennifer Knippel will play her new compositions, along with those by local composers Mark Jacobs, Mark Knippel and Scott Miller, at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Unitarian Fellowship, 87 Fourth St., Ashland. Oboist Kristin Kessler will accompany Knippel, and the concert will conclude with a performance by The New Reeds Saxophone Quartet. Admission is free.
