  • BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Blaine Tanner's RBI double sparked a three-run 10th inning that gave the Medford Rogues an 8-5 West Coast League baseball win over Bellingham in the first of a three-game series.
With a cozy three-run lead and one out in the bottom of the frame, the Rogues began to slip when closer Shane Quarterley allowed the Bells to load the bases. Quarterley, however, got Danny Miller to fly out and captured the win by striking out Walker Olis to end the game.
After Tanner's double drove in Clayton Meyer, who led off the 10th with a single, Forrest Garcia singled in Tanner to make it 7-5. Garcia later scored on a throwing error.
Meyer went 3-for-5 with two runs and drove in a pair, Tanner was 2-for-5 with two runs and Nathan Etheridge 3-for-5 with a run. Tucker Campbell added a 2-for-5 effort and drove in a run for the Rogues (22-21 WCL).
Quarterley pitched well over the final 21/3 innings to record his first win of the season after getting the Rogues out of a jam in the bottom of the eighth. He allowed two hits and one walk to go with three strikeouts.
Miller went 5-for-6 with two doubles for the Bells (30-12 WCL).
