Eating locally: what you can do

What can you do to take part in the effort to eat more locally? Eat Local Challenge organizers offer these tips:

  • Eat a home-cooked meal prepared using mainly local ingredients

  • Incorporate a never-before-tried, local ingredient into your diet

  • Take a brown-bag lunch that is local, organic and fresh

  • Talk to a food producer or vendor about your food

  • Shop at a farmers market

  • Host an “eat local” potluck for friends, family and neighbors

  • Participate in an “Eat Local Challenge” event

  • Order a Rogue Flavor special at participating restaurants
