Our lovely Neen passed away December 4, 2012, at home. She passed away peacefully after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born in 1939, to John and Mona Martini in Sioux Falls, S.D., and moved shortly thereafter to Santa Barbara, Calif. They soon moved to Hollywood and finally to Studio City where she attended grammar school. They settled in Northridge and she attended and graduated North Hollywood High School in 1957.

In 1960, Monyeen married Mike Minor and they had a son, John Drew Minor in 1964. They divorced in 1965.

In 1968, she married Bud Wilkey and families were blended with Bud's children, Chris and Erin. The family lived in Sherman Oaks, Calif. where the kids attended schools and Monyeen began one of her talents of decorating her home as well as those of others. In 1973, she helped Bud start his security manufacturing business in their living room. She helped in the business for many years as did the whole family. They attended Church on the Way in Van Nuys for several years.

In 1982, they fulfilled a dream to move to a more serene lifestyle, away from the hustle and bustle of big-city life. When a friend heard they were considering New Zealand, she suggested Ashland as a more reasonable alternative. They moved their household and business that year and built a home on Neil Creek Road where they lived for more than 10 years. The last 21 years they spent living in town closer to their business on A Street in Ashland.

Monyeen continued her hobby of decorating and began a new passion of painting. She enjoyed reading and cooking and was a great friend to all who knew her. Everyone who met her loved her soon after. She was a great listener and gave excellent advice, always with her easy smile and a helping hand to all who needed it. She constantly prayed for everyone.

Monyeen was the matriarch of son John's church, Simple Faith Fellowship in Ashland. She loved the Lord so much and will be missed by so many.

Monyeen leaves behind her husband of 44 years, Bud; her children John, Chris, and Erin; daughters-in-law, Lisa and Maria; son-in-law, Randy Cordray; grandchildren, Shane, Morgan, Taylor, Paige, and Olivia; and foster brother, Ric.

A memorial and celebration of her life will be announced and held after the first of the year. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Jude Children's Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project.
