Handmade pottery from Ashland-based ceramics studio Thrown Stone. Daily Tidings / Jamie Lusch

Add a touch of uniqueness to anyone's kitchen collection, table arrangement or garden with a gift of handmade pottery from Ashland-based ceramics studio Thrown Stone.

The artists focus on functionality as much as artistic appeal, and everything they make is dishwasher-, oven- and microwave-safe. Pottery items include distinctive cups, mugs, bowls, plates and pots, large and small.

Thrown Stone studio, 291 Oak St., has shelves full of one-of-a-kind items, or custom orders can be placed by contacting Al Wandler at 307-686-6385.

Prices start at $60 for a set of four bowls, $76 for a set of four 12-inch dinner plates and $56 for a set of four cups.
