Bruce Henry Merrill

Bruce Henry Merrill, 71, of Medford, Ore. passed away in Glendale Ore. January 10, 2013.


He was born August 14, 1941, in Overgaaurd, Ariz. to Elbert and Maggie Merrill. He resided for 23 years in the Rogue Valley.


Bruce was a veteran of the United States Navy. He served on a Hunley Class submarine tender in Holy Loch, Scotland.

He married Linda M. Berry June 18, 1966, in Crescent City,Calif. He was a truck driver who enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and playing the pedal steel guitar. He was a member of the Living Praise Tabernacle.

Bruce loved and cherished his family, his church, family and friends, and his wife of 46 years, Linda. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and cherished spending time with his family and friends.

While Bruce is no longer with us, we know with absolute certainty he is now in Heaven, resting in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

There is a huge void in the hearts of his survivors, who will always love and cherish Bruce, who was a loving, kind, generous, and humble man.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Shawn Merrill, Warner Robins, Ga.; daughter, Angela Christine Gibbons, Commerce City, Colo.; grandchildren, Crystal C. Demaree, Jacqueline N. Merrill, Zachary A. Demaree, and Janelle S. Merrill; and brother, Gary D. Merrill.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Eagle Point National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with Tim Zuber and Pastor Lyle King officiating.
