  • Phoenix Community Kitchen secures $3,000 meals grant

  • The Phoenix Community Kitchen, or PCK, a twice-monthly, free community dinner hosted by First Presbyterian Church of Phoenix, announced recently it has received a $3,000 grant from the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation, to help fund the meal program through 2013. In 2012, more than 4,000 individuals were served by PCK, which operates out of First Presbyterian's kitchen and fellowship hall at 121 Second St. in Phoenix.

In 2012, more than 4,000 individuals were served by PCK, which operates out of First Presbyterian's kitchen and fellowship hall at 121 Second St. in Phoenix.
    The PCK is open to all members of the community, and consistently provides whole foods that are freshly prepared and presented to patrons in a restaurant setting.
    "Friday Night at the Movies" is held from 7 to 9 p.m., on the first Friday of the month in the Eagle Point library Community Room, 239 W. Main St. The movie for Friday, Feb. 1, stars Jennifer Garner.
    Entry is free. Popcorn will be served, and kids are welcome to come in their pajamas.
