Fire call

An unoccupied outbuilding was destroyed in a fire Sunday afternoon on Rolling Hills Drive in Eagle Point. Jackson County Fire District No. 3 responded quickly, but the structure was a total loss, said Battalion Chief Rod Edwards.

"It burned hot and fast," Edwards said. "By the time our White City units responded, the structure was collapsed on the ground."

Fire crews from Medford and Shady Cove also responded to the blaze, he said.

No one was injured, and the building contained minimal property, Edwards said. The owners called in the fire, which remains under investigation.

Fire investigators were on the scene Sunday, and will continue working to determine the cause this week, he said.
