Lillian Joyce Aho Steele, 79, a fun loving spirit, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013, in Medford, Ore. She was born January 13, 1934, in Port Townsend, Wash.

She grew up in Crescent City, Calif. where her family had a logging business and she attended Del Norte High School. She was an avid golfer and succeeded in getting a hole in one in 2008, in Rohnert Park. Her other lifetime passions were gardening, roses, and painting; she was born with a natural gift for art. She was retired from the bar and restaurant business.

Formerly of Sonoma, Calif., she moved to Medford in June 2011 to live with her daughter, Tracy, where she continued gardening, painting, and hitting balls. She enjoyed her weekly painting group in Medford.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Don Steele; father, Arthur C. Aho; mother Florence M. Wilkins; stepmother, Aldene Aho; and daughter, Billie Jean Tucker. She is survived by her partner of 25 years, Richard Bredehoft; her children, Kathy Tucker Artegiani (Randy), of Petaluma, Tracy (Rick), of Medford, and Kellie Gallick McDonald (Tony), of Cloverdale, Calif. She is also survived by siblings, Arthur Aho of Crescent City; Arlene Devine (James), of Las Vegas, Nev.; and Sharon Ball (James); half-siblings, Anita and Jack Cheeves, of Texas; three grandchildren; and aunt, Evelyn Mills, of Vancouver, Wash.

Mother, grandmother, and friend, we will miss you. Thank you for the wonderful memories.
