South County Complex fires: Two wildfires burned in Southern Oregon on Sept. 21, 2009, threatening homes and residents in Medford and Ashland. The 633-acre Deer Ridge fire burned on east Medford's Roxy Ann Peak and the 190-acre Siskiyou fire burned on the southeast edge of Ashland. Together, they were dubbed the South County Complex fires.
