Beginner hockey class slated to start Saturday A beginner class on learning to play hockey starts Saturday at the RRRink in Medford. The four-week Learn to Play Hockey class for ages 4-16 runs from 10:45-11:30 a.m. Cost of the class is $40 and includes all required equipment and skate rental. Unified Sports offers soccer camp in Medford A Unified Sports soccer camp for kids ages 8-18 is set Aug. 8-11 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hawthorne Park in Medford. The camp, which costs $25 per athlete, will be directed by Phoenix High soccer coach Dave Potter. Unified Sports are athletic programs offered by Special Olympics and were developed so that athletes with and without mental disabilities could participate together as teammates. Youth broomball camp scheduled at the RRRink A youth broomball camp is scheduled Aug. 7-11 from 8:30-9:45 a.m. at the RRRink in Medford. Helmet and broom will be provided, although it is recommended that participants wear elbow and knee pads. Broomball is a game where players wearing tennis shoes propel a ball across the ice with a special broom. Cost of the camp is $40. For more information, call 770-1177. Panther volleyball camp slated for next month The Panther volleyball camp will be from Aug. 7-11 at the South Medford High gym. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be for grades 4-12.
