Ashland rallies to beat Crook County

BEND - Ashley Fence picked a good time to have one of her best performances of the season.

The senior was 11-of-12 in kills and served out the final three points of a 13-15, 15-8, 15-12 Class 4A state sub-tournament playoff victory for the Ashland volleyball team over Crook County on Wednesday.

The Grizzlies face Sheldon on Friday at 3 p.m. for the right to play Gresham in the first round of the state tournament.

Ashland dropped Game 1 but led wire-to-wire in a second-game win.

Crook County held a three-point lead twice in Game 3 with the last coming at 10-7.

The Grizzlies rallied to tie then, with the game deadlocked at 12-12, Fence served out the win.
