Felony arrests

  • Drugs — Brian Scott Friedman, 35, of Scottsdale, Ariz. An Oregon State Police officer Monday arrested Friedman on charges of possession of hashish and possession of marijuana. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday in lieu of $50,000 bail.
  • Burglary — Arisa Mae Vanhoy, 19, of the 100 block of Kenwood Avenue, Medford. A Jackson County sheriff's deputy Monday arrested Vanhoy on a charge of first-degree burglary. She was lodged Monday in the Jackson County Jail, where she was released on her own recognizance.
  • Assault — Robert Erik Hancock, 20, of the 100 block of Kenwood Avenue, Medford. Jackson County sheriff's deputies Monday arrested Hancock on charges of third-degree assault and harassment. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was later released on his own recognizance.
  • Assault — Trevor John Owen Vanhoy, 21, of the 1300 block of Avalon Street, Medford. Jackson County sheriff's deputies Monday arrested Vanhoy on charges of third-degree assault, felony fourth-degree assault, fourth-degree assault and harassment. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail and released later Monday on his own recognizance.
  • Drugs — Michele Lee Hutch, 47, of the 700 block of Summit Avenue, Medford. Medford police Monday arrested Hutch on charges of possession of methamphetamine and furnishing false information to police. She was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where she was being held Monday in lieu of $8,000 bail.
  • Drugs — Christopher Marion Mendoza, 39, of the 11200 block of Dunnan Road, Central Point. Mendoza made his initial appearance Monday in Jackson County Circuit Court on a charges of possession of methamphetamine. He was processed Monday in the Jackson County Jail and released on his own recognizance.

Crime reports

  • Burglary — 900 block of West Eighth Street, Medford. Medford police took a report at 8:57 a.m. Monday of a break-in to a business from which a laptop computer was stolen. The business's broken window was valued at $250 and the stolen laptop was valued at $2,570.
  • Burglary — 1300 block of Justice Road, Medford. Medford police took a report at 3:25 p.m. Monday of the theft of a $350 chainsaw during a burglary of at a business.
