Only 38 shopping days until Christmas

Local organizations and churches will offer handmade Christmas decor, crafts, gifts and treats at holiday bazaars to be held around the Rogue Valley. Here's a list of what is available.

Nov. 17, 18 and 19

  • Christmas in the Northwest, a gift and gourmet food show featuring more than 60 local and regional artists and vendors, will be held Friday-Sunday, Nov. 17-19, at the Medford Armory, 1701 S. Pacific Highway, Medford. Hours will be noon to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $3 or $2 with a donation of canned food to ACCESS Food Share.   • Arbor Place Senior Community's Christmas Bazaar will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at 3150 Juanipero Way, Medford. There will be crafts, jewelry, unique items, baked goods, recipes in a jar and more. Call 773-5380.
  • Women for Cascades' annual holiday bazaar is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, in the Fireside Room at West Main Church of Christ, 1701 W. Main St., Medford. Handcrafted holiday decorations and gift items, baked goods, holiday treats, white elephant items, and our famous Rose Bowl bean soup mix. All proceeds will benefit scholarships to Cascade College in Portland. Call 621-8136.
  • The Brookings Harbor annual Christmas bazaar will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Brookings Harbor High School, 625 Pioneer Road, Brookings. One hundred crafters and artisans will offer homemade, home-sewn and home-grown items, including woodwork, needlework, jewelry, kelp and sea grass pouches and baskets and gourd art. A hot lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. The bazaar is sponsored by the Brookings Nite Extension Group with the help of the Seagals Extension Group.   • Trinity Episcopal Church's annual Quilt 'n' Mincemeat Sale is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at the church, 44 N. Second St., Ashland. Homemade mincemeat, quilts, comforters and home-baked goodies, along with raffles for quilts will be available. Admission is free. Call 772-2233 or 488-5620.
  • St. Mary's School's "Christmas on Parade" annual bazaar is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, at the school, 816 Black Oak Drive, Medford. There will be handmade Christmas decorations and hand knitted and crocheted items. Lunch and refreshments will be available. Admission is $1. Call 773-7877, Ext. 3107.
  • Butte Falls Lady Lioness Christmas in the county bazaar is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Butte Falls Community Hall. The event will feature Christmas items, crafts, handmade items, a silent auction, raffles and home-made treats. Lunch will be available. Call 865-3362 or 865-3221.
  • Medford Senior Center's holiday bazaar is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at 510 E. Main St., Medford. A variety of holiday items, crafts, baked goods, hand-knit items, jewelry, decor, quilts, items for children, birdhouses and more will be available. Admission is free. A concession stand will be available for snacks and lunch. Call 772-2273.
  • Central Point Senior Center's holiday craft bazaar is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at 123 N. Second St., Central Point. There will be raffle drawings, home baked goods, handmade jewelry, plants, Teddy bears, candle holders, handmade greeting cards and more. Admission is free. Call 664-4933.
  • The Ladies of the Medford Friends Church annual holiday bazaar is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at the church, 525 DeBarr Ave., Medford. There will be gift items and baked goods, along with tag sale items. Lunch will be available. Admission is free. Call 664-1449.
  • Mountain View Church's Holiday Craft Bazaar is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18. To get there, follow Highway 66 to mile marker 22, (four miles past Greensprings Inn), and follow the signs. Admission is free, and refreshments will be available. Goods and services will include mosaic art, mountain art, massage, portraiture, jewelry, forged items and knitted clothing.   • The Oregon Association for Family and Community Education's annual free holiday bazaar is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Southern Oregon Research and Extension Center Auditorium, 569 Hanley Road, Central Point. Handcrafted items, food, plants and baked goods will be available. Call 772-2647.

Nov. 25 and 26

  • Winter Light Festival is presenting its first annual Downtown Medford Christmas Bazaar, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, in Theatre Alley with tree lighting, Santa and entertainment starting at 6 p.m. Call 890-4043.
  • Lithia Artisans Market's sixth annual Christmas craft fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 24 and 25, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St., Ashland. There will be crafts, free organic apple cider and a crafts area for children. Live music will be presented. A portion of the proceeds will benefit an orphanage in Ashland's sister city of Guanajuato, Mexico. Call 488-3118.
